Chair’s note – If you’ve never had the opportunity to look at the most recent version of the Republican Party Platform – consider adding it to your bucket list. The values therein offer a remarkably clear vision of the authentic path to the American Dream. Among the priority positions is concern for the preservation of life – most specifically the lives of those who cannot speak for themselves. Republican dedication to choosing responsibility over convenience is one of many central differences between our thinking and that of the opposition. Using taxpayer money to fund abortions is another. Both are distinctions we’re proud to uphold. Sometimes that stand occurs in the halls of Congress – other times it comes down to a single person standing on a street corner. Linda FitzHugh may be a testament to the latter. Having recently had her conservative sensibilities triggered by a curious business promotion, she’s looking to act. Her mission – to raise awareness to the fact that Planned Parenthood is about anything but. As a partner in good governance, we thought her courageous efforts merited support. Maybe you will too. cm

Linda FitzHugh is a conservative. She’s also a customer of Boheme boutique in Biltmore, and as such, received an invitation to an upcoming ‘Condom Couture’ fundraiser –

Come join us NEXT Wednesday June 21st at Boheme from 5-7 pm. The wonderful owners (who just happen to be Condom Couture sponsors!) are hosting a wine and cheese reception featuring fun, fashion, and an opportunity to gather more information about Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. A brief program about PPSAT’s work in Asheville will take place at 6:00 p.m. Live models will be wearing Condom Couture garments from the 2017 event, and the only Condom Couture designer who has participated all 5 years will be there too! 10% of the sales from the day will benefit Planned Parenthood South Atlantic and the patients we serve in Western North Carolina.

It seems Linda has conviction and a courage button and is planning a one-person protest from 6:00-7:30 outside of the event. “I may be standing alone, but I find this kind of action by a place I shop very strange. The idea my purchases are supporting the misguided mission of Planned Parenthood is very offensive. I decided to do something to challenge their action with my own.”

Linda is a good example of what we call “our partners in good governance.” We share her conviction and applaud her courage and concern. If you would like to help Linda FitzHugh, you can reach her at lindaf@eggsamerica.com / 208-250-1040. She’ll be doing her thing alone – or with a little help from her friends…
